My reading life… atm.

"The murdered do haunt their murderers, I believe"

“The murdered do haunt their murderers, I believe”

I think that this will be a regular, and I will be posting this every one-two weeks depending on what I have read or reading.

What I’m curling up with; Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

Why I chose this book; I’m trying to expand my reading range out of contemporary novels, and after reading the classics such as Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice, and after hearing good things, I decided this one.

Thoughts; I am only 3/4 through at the moment, but I’m loving it. It was a struggle to get through the beginning as it is slow to start and a lot of back story, but I am SO glad I did, because the pay off is SO worth it.

Book I last read; I read Labyrinth by Kate Mosse, this book I had mixed feelings about, it follows a modern day girl called Alice, who during a archaeological dig stumbles on something that gives her an unique look at past events. I really enjoyed the switching of the point of views and the jumps through time. I have picked up the sequel and the final book in the sequence to read, to see what spin the story is going to take on now.

What I want to read next; This is a toss up between, Reckless by Cornelia Funke or The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger. I haven’t quite decided yet. I’ll keep you updated.

Favourite book at the moment; I’m going to cheat and give you one of my staple favourites and a newly found favourite. My staple is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, I love the characters and the story, it makes me happy to think of reading it, and I might just have to do a blog post dedicated to my love of Jane. My newly found favourite would have to be The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, it is one of those books that you read filled with dread but with complete love for the characters, it is so well formed and the story itself is one of the best. It will definitely be taking a place on my favourites shelf for a lot more years to come.
